Regent Voyager Suffers Minor Engine Trouble

This has not been a banner day for the luxury cruise industry. First we lose one of the most beautiful yachts sailing the South Pacific (see my post about Nomade Yachting in receivership) and now we're hearing about engine trouble aboard Regent's Seven Seas Voyager. The cruise ship is currently sailing a 14-night itinerary from Rio de Janeiro to Fort Lauderdale.

Luckily, it sounds like the problem is minor. That being said though, the ship was forced to bypass its scheduled port of Antigua due to a slower cruising speed cause by the engine trouble. Instead, the ship will dock several hours longer in San Juan while the engine is fixed. All should be well after that and the itinerary is expected to resume without further adjustments.

Unrelated to the engine problem, Voyager also suffered an isolated water leak that has affected several cabins.

Let's hope tomorrow shines a bit brighter for Voyager!
