Regent's New Arts Endowment Program

You've got to hand it to Regent Seven Seas Cruises for finding a way for its passengers to support the arts while vacationing in style. Regent's new Art Experience and Endowment Program donates money to specific art museums when cruisers book directly through the museum. The first such partnership is with Miami's Bass Museum of Art. Travelers can book one of 10 European cruises this year and Regent will donate $400 per booking to the museum. Guests will also receive a $200 per suite shipboard credit.

According to Sophie Vlessing, vice president of guest strategy and marketing for the cruise line, "Regent's partnership with the Bass Museum illustrates the beginning of the brand's pioneering commitment to the Regent Art Experience and Endowment Program and its goal to support the arts. The program also gives us the opportunity to offer guest meaningful, often once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to gain private access to art experts, artists, and exhibits through many of our voyages."

Bass Museum executive director and chief curator Diane Camber will lead Art, Design, and Cultures Circles of Interest programs during the following cruises:
July 19, 2007: Barcelona to Monte Carlo
August 11, 2007: Civitavecchia (for Rome) to Monte Carlo
August 18, 2007: Civitavecchio to Venice

Ms. Camber will accompany guests to ancient Roman ruins, to survey Michelangelo's masterpieces throughout Florence, and view the private collection of Billionaire collector Francois Pinault at the Palazzo Grassi in Venice. Onboard, Camber will discuss the works of Gaudi, Miro, Picasso, and Caravaggio.

Seven additional voyages are part of the Regent-Bass initiative and can be booked directly through the Bass Museum of Art, including four Baltic sailings with Russian art and literature expert Vadim Palchun.
July 28, 2007: Stockholm to Copenhagen
August 4, 2007: Copenhagen to Stockholm
August 11, 2007: Stockholm to Copenhagen
August 18, 2007: Copenhagen to Stockholm

Other cruises in this series:
May 14, 2007: Barcelona to Civitavecchia
May 19, 2007: Monte Carlo to Piraeus (for Athens)
